I am a freelance historian, researcher, curator and collections-broker and am available to work on commission.

I worked for the twelve years 1971-83 as a curator at the National Army Museum in London and was then The Keeper of the National War Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh Castle until 2000.

While continuing my many links with the international museum world, pursuing a career as an author and giving part of my time as Archivist of The Cavalry and Guards Club in London, I also offer a range of services that draw upon my knowledge and experience.
